We are currently signing up people who are interested in participating in the pilot of The Pool service. The pilot will go live later during January 2024. The pilot month will be free for all participants.

We are currently setting up the first pilot group for The Pool. We’ll be publishing the first available selection in January 2024 when the pilot goes live.

Once the pilot of the service launches, you’ll be able to see a full list of items that are available from other Pool members.

You can then choose which one you’d like to get for your first month and pick that up from the community member who has made it available. Alternatively, the item can be shipped (billed separately) if the owner is ok with shipping.

The use period for an item from The Pool is one month. If there’s nobody on the waiting list for the item, you can extend it once for another month. After your use period is over, we ask you to return the item and choose another one.

No worries. If you’re not getting along with the instrument you picked up for the month, you can return it and pick another available item. You can do this for free once a month.

Your contribution should be a music making machine - for example a synthesizer, a drum machine, an effects unit, a sampler, a sequencer, a Eurorack module. Have a look at our Community Store for inspiration.

The items you contribute should be desktop sized, in good working condition, and packaged well for transportation. We encourage everyone to contribute multiple items to make The Pool as interesting as possible.

We reserve the right to reject items that we don’t find suitable for The Pool.

The more the merrier! The strength of The Pool comes from the community sharing as many interesting items as they can with one another. If everyone adds multiple items, the selection will grow to be very interesting rather quick.

Once the service goes fully live, we will have a system in place that rewards users who contribute multiple items. The full details of this will be published after the pilot phase is over.

Whenever you get a notification that an item you’ve contributed has been chosen by a Pool member, you should be able to arrange a handover of the item within three days of the notification.

If you are busy, away, or find it otherwise difficult to arrange handovers, you can always drop any items you’ve contributed to our location in Berlin Mitte. We are happy to keep a hold of them for you and you can pick items back any time if they are not in use by another Pool member.

We ask all members of The Pool to sign up for our partner’s insurance policy to make sure your items are covered.

The pilot group will be assembled from Berlin-based members. When the full service launches, we hope to make it available across Germany.
